HISTORY OF SUCCESS
The LaunchPad Professional has been our most popular product. To reduce cost to consumers for the same key benefits of the Professional version, we are now offering the Standard version.
These products are designed to improve the health, comfort and control of computer input devices including any ergonomic mouse, trackball, touchpad, or tenkey. History proves that they do. With thousands sold, with a 30 day trial period, only a few have been returned -- and two were for another ErgoSpace product!
The original concept was designed out of necessity for it reversed the inventor's repetitive stress injuries including carpal tunnel, lateral epicondolytis, neck pain, and shoulder pain associated with mousing. The palm posturing system concept then developed with feedback from research at the University of Washington, from ergonomists, ergonomic office furniture dealer representatives, end users working on desktop publishing, CAD, graphics design, web design, and data input. The ErgoSpace Palm Posturing System version with the integrated rigid mouse pad (the LaunchPad Professional) has been our most popular as it adapts to the broadest range of work spaces and essentially joins with the data input device that rests on the integrated rigid mouse pad base.
The product was then sold to thousands through the recommendations of ergonomics, occupational therapists, physical therapists, ergonomic office furniture consultants, risk managers, and end users' word of mouth. Many of these experts realize that RSI primarily affects the mousing wrist (etc..) first and most. They also realize that the ErgoSpace Palm Posturing System incorporates a synergy of the key elements essential to computer ergonomics, that it is easily customizable to virtually all cursor controlling input devices as well a ten key systems, and that it integrates with and improves most any work space. So a huge benefit can be introduced quickly without disruption.
Over the years we and those that recommend our product have learned of many successes -- users with radically reduced pain in the hand, wrist, carpal tunnel, forearm, shoulder and neck. A number of patients that were scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery actually avoided surgery. In all cases of injury, we recommend that you work with a therapist.
The concept of the ergonomic mouse has evolved through many iterations and the LaunchPad Professional has enhanced all of them -- primarily since it provides passive support of proper posture with the wrist aligned, the palm slightly supinated, the hand relaxed and fingers not pre-stressed, and support of proper posture in the resting phase. During the resting phase the shoulder, neck and back also gain relief while the wrist remains aligned during a period that can be very stressful. Wrist rests don't do this - in fact they can cause considerable harm. Ergonomic mice and track balls don't do this. And the LaunchPad will out survive them all with durability to last for many years - from mouse to mouse, track ball to track ball, mouse to track ball -- etcetera.... So it a great value, elegant, extremely comfortable, easy to adapt to your specific input device and work space, and it is effective.
So if you are looking for a mouse pad, a wrist rest, or an computer mouse -- you have found much more than that.
